It’s almost the New Year 2019 and Valentine’s day-a time for love and new beginnings. I’ve never written about aphrodisiac foods, probably because I don’t like cooking! However, it’s a fun light topic that I haven’t covered… so here are 12 aphrodisiac foods that you and your love interest can munch on together. And, if you’d like to try them in actual recipes I am also listing two cute aphrodisiac cookbooks for you to try as well. So enjoy!
1-CLOVES- they increase sexual appetite.
2-VANILLA- used in love spells
3-ASPARAGUS-Known as an aphrodisiac in France.
4-POMEGRANATES- They were mentioned in the Kama Sutra and can reportedly lift testosterone levels 30%
5-LICORICE- increases blood flow to sexual organs
6-OYSTERS- Aphrodite, the goddess of Love sprang out of an oyster shell. Romans used to get slaves to gather oysters to help women loosen up at parties.
7- CHOCOLATE- Montezuma reportedly drank 50 cups of chocolate a day to perform sexually. Chocolate contains phenylethylamine, the same thing that makes one feel in love. It spikes dopamine and increases pleasure.
8-HONEY-Hippocrates prescribed honey for sexual vigor. Honeymoons are names for it! In India they offer the groom honey on his wedding day.
9-BASIL-Basil was used in ancient love spells.
10-FIGS-They put you in the mood.
11-CHILE-Chiles make you flush, sweat and sweat and increase heart rate.
12-AVOCADOS-The vitamin E in it may spark youthful energy. Avocado nutrition has nutrients essential to sexual health, including beta-carotene, magnesium and vitamin E.
